Abbey United u13s took on Dromahair at Ballisodare Astro on Sunday as they got their league campaign underway as they stepped up to 11v11 on full pitch. Abbey United started strong with Lee Regan reopening his account on his return after being put through by Darragh McMorrow. Dromahair stood resolute despite constant pressure until Kale Fitzgerald was taken down in the box Belal Omar ‘Bebo’ stepped up to the mark place a shot into the corner only for Dromahair keeper to save it. Abbey kept up the pressure with a Lee Regan cross coming off a Dromahair defender. Captain Daniel Noonan kept everything solid at the back with Abbey United taking a 2-0 win into half time.

The Abbey pressure never relented and it wasn’t long till Lee and Darragh linked up again for Lee Regans second. Which was quickly followed by a goal from Bebo as he nipped in front of the keeper slotting in a goal. Dmitriy Voits came on at half time bringing some more fire power as his long range shot added another goal. Dmitriy smashed the woodwork twice more with two great efforts. Darragh and Lee were at it again as a cross from Darragh seen Lee leap high above the Dromahair defense to connect with a wonderful header. Dromahair never gave up and found a goal in the second half. The match finished 7-1 to Abbey United starting their league off with a great win.
