Well done to Abbey United u13s Girls who won 7-1 yesterday under the lights at Cleveragh Astro against St. Johns Zara Leigh Murrin opened the scoring for Abbey and St. John’s also getting one with Leigha Gethins on target again to bring Abbey to the end of the first in control with 2-1 lead.Abbey United came out strong in the second half making it 3-1 with a well worked corner seeing Leigha Gethins laying up the ball for first half goalkeeper Lottie Conlon with a terrific shot from outside of the box beating the keeper. Lacy May McCartney has continued to show her prowess in her new position with another fantastic strike that would be a difficult save for any keeper. The Abbey defence was resolute dealing with anything thrown at them and keeping the pressure on St. John’s. Leigha Gethins got her second and Zara Leigh Murrin manoeuvred through the defence scoring two more to get her hat trick. Well done to all the girls and their coaches with a very impressive display.
