Result: Boyle 3 – 5 Abbey United
A young U13B team went to Boyle on Saturday afternoon for their second game of the season. It was end to end at the start but Boyle went 1-0 up after Mustafa Balich accidentally brought down a Boyle attacker on the box Jack Gaffney picked aside but Boyles James Sharkey put the ball high and down the middle to score. Boyle went 2-0 up a few minutes later. Abbey didn’t drop the heads and Henry Hadebe came on for his u13s debut bringing lots of energy with him which proved valuable as Mustafa Balich slotted him through to go 1v1 with keeper and Henry cool as ever place a shot into the corner. Henry was involved again for Abbeys equaliser as he set up Macsen Ediae for his first with u13s also on his debut. Macsen wasn’t done with one goal to his name as 3 minutes later Abbey took the lead Jake McCartney playing the ball down the line to Macsen to cut in along the line into the box his shit ricocheting off Boyle defence into the goals. The drama didn’t end there as Boyle equalised to make it 3-3. The match could go anyway with the whole second half left to play but Malik Animasaun was going to make sure it would go in Abbeys favour as he was played in by Shane Kenny. Henry was to score another from the edge of the box which was rule offside by Louie being in an offside position and interference with the goal keeper. Louie Fitzgerald found himself on the attack before he was brought down at the edge of the box resulting in a free which he placed over the wall and put of reach of the keeper.
Abbey United came out victors with 5-3 win away after showing great spirit and coming from 2-0 behind and winning the game making it 2 wins out of 2 in the league a team growing in confidence.
