Abbey United u12s A team played out 0-0 draw with Carrick Town. Abbey only had the minimum of 9 players for this encounter. Abbey started strong keeping Carrick in their own half for much of the first half with Malik Animasaun having a terrific shot from the edge of the box being denied by an equally great save from the Carrick keeper. Second half Abbey battled against the wind as it picked up in the second half as the sun went in. But the defensive line of Jake McCartney, Mustafa Gunesh and Harry Akingbade stood resolute helping Jack Gaffney in goals keeping a clean sheet. Well done to a very young Abbey squad with all the lads getting a full game under their belt in some very exhausting conditions at the exposed Summerhill.
