With the clocks springing forward Abbey United u13B took on Carrick Town on a bright evening in Cranmore. Carrick started strong pinning Abbey into their own half and scoring 3 quick goals making for a very long evening but Abbey started to find their feet. With 25 minutes gone Enzo Lopes found a ball through to Neal Downey to score and to ignite a comeback, nearly a minute later Neal Downey had another chance that was blocked with the ball falling to Jake McCartney to make it 3-2 momentum had swung with Macsen Ediae scoring Abbeys third before half time making it all even going into the second half. Abbey continued the pressure in the second half with a free kick from Louie Fitzgerald creating a goal line scramble and a lot of questions of did it cross the line. Carrick stayed strong with goal line saves from shots from Bekir Dobra and Neal Downey. But the deadlock was broken with a goal from Shane Kenny cracking the tension and Sean Fallon Park erupting.
The game finishes Abbey 4-3 Carrick placing Abbey 2nd in the league.
